Ethiopia Negele Gorbitu is a seasonal limited-edition specialty coffee from the Czech roastery The Naughty Dog. Sweet, aromatic and distinctly Ethiopian, it is a beautiful choice for slow autumn mornings, relaxed afternoons and anyone who enjoys fruity coffees with a soft, sweet finish.

In the cup, you'll find notes of orange lollipop, cranberries, nougat and orange wine. Expect medium acidity, juicy fruitiness and a playful yet balanced character. Bright citrus notes bring freshness, cranberries add a vibrant fruity sweetness, while nougat rounds everything out with a smooth, comforting sweetness. The finish has a subtle orange wine character that gives the coffee extra depth and complexity.

From the Yirgacheffe region of Ethiopia

This coffee comes from Gedeb in the Yirgacheffe region, one of Ethiopia's most renowned areas for specialty coffee. The coffee cherries are processed at the Gedeb Gotiti washing station, located in a high-altitude coffee-growing environment with an ideal microclimate and a long tradition of coffee cultivation.

The coffee plants grow at an impressive 1,995–2,020 metres above sea level. At these elevations, the cherries ripen more slowly, allowing them to develop a higher concentration of sugars and aromatic compounds. Combined with careful harvesting and processing, this gives the coffee its clean fruitiness, juicy sweetness and characteristic Ethiopian elegance.

Ethiopian varieties & natural processing

Ethiopia Negele Gorbitu is a blend of the local Ethiopian varieties Kurume, Dega and Wolisho. These varieties contribute to the coffee's complex flavour profile, bringing together fruity, floral and sweetly spiced characteristics.

The coffee is naturally processed, meaning that the ripe coffee cherries are dried whole with the fruit still surrounding the beans. During the drying process, the sugars and flavours from the fruit influence the beans, creating a sweeter cup with pronounced fruitiness, fuller body and a soft, smooth texture.

With its medium roast, this coffee is suitable for both filter brewing and espresso, making it a versatile choice for different brewing methods.
